Qualities of Silk.

Silk has a reputation for being delicate, but it’s actually the strongest of natural fibres and it contains essential amino acids, which have the ability to rejuvenate skin tone, reduce wrinkles and hydrate skin. Not only does silk feel amazing on your skin, it also has the ability to speed up skin cell metabolism, which helps our bodies retain heat in cold weather and expel heat in warmer weather.

And silk is hypoallergenic. It doesn’t draw moisture away from your skin or hair but instead encourages a correct moisture balance.

How to care for your silk.

Silk does not need to be washed as often as you might think. Unwanted smells can be got rid of simply by hanging the garment up, preferably outside (in a shady area and never in direct sunlight).

To remove stains or stubborn odours, we recommend gently hand washing the garment, using a delicate detergent or hand wash, in cold water.

Once rinsed, lay flat on a dry rack. Any creases in your silk garment should naturally drop while it hangs in your wardrobe, but persistent creases can be removed by simply hanging it in the bathroom while you take a hot shower or of course ironed (inside out and under a tea towel)
